Technology, Innovation & Society and Energy Systems Analysis

The programme comprises systems analysis and research on social and environmental aspects of scientific and technological progress. It combines research on the relationship between technology, innovation and society which has an overarching character (e.g. concerning the operationalisation of the Leitbild of sustainable development) with application- and technology-oriented issues.

R & D work of the institute aims at the development and use of advanced computer science methods and tools in energy systems analysis and for better networking and provision of information for life cycle assessment and in other environmental areas.
